Emerald Green Arborvitae Trimming and Mulch Installation in Beaverton, Oregon
These Emerald Green Arborvitae had gone about two years without trimming, resulting in overgrown and uneven growth. Regular trimming, typically once or twice a year, helps maintain their shape, encourages healthy growth, and keeps the hedge looking neat and well-maintained. For this project, we carefully trimmed the arborvitae to restore a clean, uniform shape while preserving their natural growth.
Because this project was completed during the summer, we used a lighter trimming approach. The goal was to restore the arborvitae’s shape and appearance without removing too much growth at once, setting them up for healthier growth while maintaining their natural form.
For ideal maintenance, Emerald Green Arborvitae are best pruned in late spring, typically around May or June, to shape the plants and control their spring growth. A light touch-up in August can help maintain their shape and keep the hedge looking neat through the rest of summer.
To complete the project, we spread approximately 4 yards of dark brown hemlock mulch throughout the property. The fresh layer of mulch added a clean, finished appearance and gave the entire yard a noticeably refreshed look.
